Only after a couple of days since actress Payel Mukherjee was attacked by a biker in Kolkata, another Bengali actress, Mishmee Das , fell prey to harassment in the city of joy – that too, right outside her home. Mishmee, one of the most popular actresses in the Bengali entertainment industry, revealed that she and her mother were harassed, abused and threatened by a couple on Sunday evening.

What really happened? Mishmee put up a social media post narrating the entire incident in detail. Mishmee wrote, “Just a few mins ago, while I was leaving for an event and my mother and a relative were entering the house, this lady and her husband had parked the car right in front of our house in Garia dhalai bridge. My mother asked her to move the car since my car couldn’t be parked in front of the gate of my own building. This woman started abusing and threatening my mother, eventually they moved the car but didn’t stop with the abuses, so I came out and took a picture of their car and number. She got so agitated that she physically stopped me from entering my car and asked me to delete the photo. When I refused and got inside the car she put her hand inside my car and took a photo of me and threatened “film industry te naam kharab ki kore kori dekhun ebar!” Is this what safety in my city looks like? I had to leave since I was getting late for the event but they stood there and abused my mother and other people for another 20 mins. Then policce came and they threatened my mother to ruin my career in front of the officer who was standing there.”
Mishmee added a glaring question in the end and wrote, “How am I supposed to feel safe if this happens right under my house? Thank god my mother was present or else who knows what would’ve happened.”
Talking to ETimes, Mishmee revealed that she was being harassed online as well by the owner of the car. The actress told ETimes that she filed a complaint on Monday morning and provided the police with all the necessary information and details. She is hopeful that the police will take strict action against them and be cautious about such incidents in the future.
On the work front, Mishmee is currently seen portraying the character of Rohini in the Bengali serial ‘ Kon Gopone Mon Bhesheche ’. She shares the screen space with actors like Ranojoy Bishnu , Sweta Bhattacharya , Aditi Chatterjee on the show.
