UPITS: Jal Jeevan Mission's 'Har Ghar Jal' village model wins best display award

GREATER NOIDA: Uttar Pradesh Jal Jeevan Mission ’s ' Har Ghar Jal ' village model won the ‘ Best Display Award ’ at the International Trade Show (UPITS) on Saturday. The model, displayed in 438-square-meter area in Hall No. 7, effectively communicated the mission’s journey of providing tap connections to every household in country’s most populous state. Union Minister of Textiles Giriraj Singh and MSME Minister Rakesh Sachan presented the award that was received by senior media advisor, Jal Jeevan Mission, UP, Radha Krishna Tripathi.

The award recognizes the creative and informative presentation of Jal Jeevan Mission's achievements, particularly in drought-prone areas of Bundelkhand and Vindhya. UP tops the list in providing tap connections to rural homes Principal Secretary, Sanjay Prasad, visited the stall on Saturday and praised the mission's efforts as Uttar Pradesh has achieved a milestone by providing tap connections to 2.26 crore rural households, the highest in India. Besides, the Jal Jeevan Mission UP is also continuing to promote water conservation through innovative awareness campaigns.

Bundelkhandi Alha steals the show at trade fair

The mesmerizing performances of Bundelkhandi Alha at the Jal Jeevan Mission stall are a runaway hit and on Saturday too, a large crowd, drawn by the infectious musical beats and rhythms danced to the tune of Alha. Many of them were also seen clicking selfies with the artistes. Visitors, including foreign dignitaries and children and all of them appreciated the interactive display.
