NEW DELHI: Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath is spearheading the progress of the state with the help of advisers like Awinash Kumar Awasthi and UPSIDC CEO Mayur Maheshwari, said Times of India group vice-president Dhanush Vir Singh on Thursday in his opening address at the fifth edition of TOI Dialogues held in Kanpur.

The TOI Dialogues is celebrating Kanpur’s emergence as a thriving economic and cultural hub. Renowned for being a leading producer and exporter of leather and textile goods, the city has established itself as a major industrial center in India.

In addition to its financial prowess, the city has made significant contributions to art, literature, and cinema, helping to shape the cultural landscape of Uttar Pradesh.

Singh thanked Olympic bronze medalist Manu Bhakar and actor Divyendu for participating in the event and heaped praise on individuals and organizations from Kanpur who have made national and international impact.

"Was there an acceptance problem in Kanpur? I don’t think so. Country's pride Manu Bhakar and people like Shrikant Bhola and Divyendu did not hesitate for even a second to confirm their presence in Kanpur. So, I don’t think it is a problem at all," he said and added: "Kanpur has industry leaders who have made a significant national impact. You’ve got the honorable chief minister spearheading the progress of the state, advisers like Awanish who have a strong bond with Kanpur, and the UP Industrial Development Authority headed by someone like Maheshwari."
