Nagpur: The birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi was celebrated with enthusiasm at Rajiv Gandhi College of Engineering, Research and Technology (RCERT), Chandrapur.
The programme began with floral tributes at Rajiv Gandhi's statue by the institution's president Vinod Dattatreya, secretary Jayant Velankivar and principal Dr Anil Chitade. Faculty members and students also paid their respects.
The event was marked by remembrance of Rajiv Gandhi's contributions to modern India, including his role in technology, education and grassroots democracy. Professors, students and staff from all departments participated in large numbers in the programme.
