NEW DELHI: Enrolment of senior citizens aged 70 and above, irrespective of income, under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana ( AB-PMJAY ) may begin next week.
PM Modi is likely to green signal the process on Tuesday and launch other key health projects including the adoption of UWIN app-a platform developed by the govt to capture every vaccination event of all pregnant women and children under Universal Immunisation Programme (UIP).
Govt approved health coverage to all senior citizens aged 70 years and above irrespective of income under AB-PMJAY last month. Sources said pilot projects have been carried out in several parts of India to assess readiness to roll out the scheme.
All other senior citizens of the age 70 years and above will get a cover up to Rs 5 lakh per year on a family basis, officials said. UWIN app will be used to fix appointments.
