BHOPAL: A 77-year-old man visiting the state-run district hospital in MP’s Chhatarpur for his ailing wife’s treatment was allegedly slapped, kicked and dragged out of the facility for questioning why the designated doctor was late for OPD.
Udhal Lal Joshi had travelled from Naugaon town with his 70-year-old wife, Lali Joshi, and queued up to get the appointment slip. The April 17 episode came to light after a video of Joshi being targeted surfaced Sunday. The couple was waiting outside OPD room No. 11 when Dr Rajesh Mishra allegedly arrived late. Joshi asked him the reason for the delay, at which the doctor allegedly tore up his OPD slip, slapped, kicked and punched the elderly man. An assistant joined in the assault, dragging the elderly caregiver by hand and pushing him outside the hospital.
