As the road to WrestleMania 41 gets shorter and shorter with less than four days remaining, here’s looking back at the top three promos that set the tone for some epic storytelling to follow at the Showcase of Immortals.
WWE is gearing up for the biggest show of the year as WrestleMania 41 is almost upon us. With the stakes as high as the skies, 13 matches have been booked so far, and the intense rivalries on the card have been a major booster for the crowd along the way. Out of the 13 battles booked, eight of them will have the belt on the line.
The remaining five will be sheer storytelling, one of which is obviously going to be the main event of Night 1 at Las Vegas. It will be a triple-threat fight pitting Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins , and CM Punk against each other. Apart from that, the main event of night 2, where Cody Rhodes goes head-to-head against John Cena , with the appearance of The Rock being a mystery, the fans simply cannot get enough of it.
With so many intriguing bouts to be duked out over two days in the Allegiant Stadium, the build-up to the same has been fascinating. Here are the top three promos, which were a crucial part of the intense runaway to the Grandest Shows of all.
3. Jey Uso is no longer afraid of Gunther
In a segment preceding this hard-hitting promo, Jey Uso was tied up to the ring when Gunther bloodied Jimmy Uso with a beating of a lifetime. The next episode saw Jey Uso coming out, all guns blazing, and he said out loud and clearly that he was no longer afraid of the Ring General. He urged the latter to hug and kiss his family before WrestleMania, while Uso would be praying for both himself and Gunther. He insinuated an absolute menace to follow when he sought an advanced apology for the man who is about to wreck Gunther. Fans and experts alike made it clear that Jey possibly did the best work of his life on the microphone, which left Gunther with a sparkle of fear in those impervious and arrogant eyes.
2. Seth Rollins asks for a favour from Paul Heyman
On the 7th April episode of WWE Raw, Paul Heyman tried to explain his decision to corner CM Punk instead of being Roman Reigns’ wiseman at WrestleMania. While he continued with his speech, Seth Rollins’ music hit, and the Visionary quickly cornered The Mad Genius. Rollins pointed out that it was Heyman who was tormented the most, and he could be out of his misery only if the Visionary stomped him then and there. As Seth kept on amping up his rage, CM Punk’s music hit, and the Straightedge Saviour rushed out to the center only to be curb-stomped by Seth Rollins. While Paul Heyman attended Punk, Rollins wanted to stomp him too, but fell short. He immediately came close to Heyman and told him, "Now you owe me a favor." The look in Rollins’ eyes and the overall segment made the fans chant “Do it again.”
1. John Cena owned Cody Rhodes with a hard-hitting dig at Tony Khan
John Cena has been one of the best individuals on the microphone ever since he set foot in the squared circle. However, he took it a million notches higher when he told Cody Rhodes, “I make empires for billionaires. All you’ve ever done is steal money from their kids.” Of course, it was a reference to how Cena has contributed extensively to WWE while the kid of the billionaire in question was Tony Khan, the son of Shad Khan, who owned AEW. John Cena made it clear that he is shovelling a poke at Cody Rhodes for his stint with AEW. John also answered the ever-looming accusation against him of burying talent by stating, “I don't bury talent, I AM talent. I bury mediocrity." With so many scathing statements, he left the fans utterly incensed, and what followed thereafter was Cody Rhodes playing damage control.

This was the promo of Jey Uso's career. Most "Cut-Copy-Paste" Wrestling media will be mad that Jey didn't just attack GUNTHER after last week. But this was much more powerful. The promo Jey needed to cut & the mood he had to set. Now, I can't wait for this match, & neither can U. pic.twitter.com/niAGiU4P4E
