WWE star Kevin Owens has recently announced on this week’s SmackDown that he will not be joining the WrestleMania match against Randy Orton owing to his serious neck injury. The WWE champion has been dealing with this injury for approximately four months and now requires surgery, leading to the cancellation of the match.
Previously, raising doubts and concerns for his upcoming WrestleMania 41 bout against Randy Orton. Owens was last seen in the Elimination Chambers PLE on March 1, 2025, in an Unsanctioned Match against his former best friend, Sami Zayn.
During the Elimination Chambers match, Sami Zayn was defeated by Kevin Owens, after brutally thrashing the former inside the ring. To everyone’s surprise, Randy Orton made a shocking comeback on WWE to save Zayn and attacked Kevin Owens brutally, until he was stopped by the WWE officials.
This intense feud led to the company fixing an anticipated clash at the upcoming Shows of the Show on April 19, 2025, and April 20, 2025, in Las Vegas, Nevada. However, now it has been officially confirmed by WWE that the match won’t take place due to Owens’ injury.

As per reports, Kevin Owens will reportedly miss the much-awaited WrestleMania 41 match due to his serious neck injury. This was confirmed on Friday’s SmackDown during the Randy Orton and Kevin Owens segment.
SmackDown general manager Nick Aldis introduced Kevin Owens, who walked out wearing a Bret Hart jacket, looking emotional. Owens revealed during the segment that he has been dealing with a serious neck injury since 4 months and needs immediate surgery.
He thanked his fans for their unwavering support. As he exited the ring, Orton made his entrance, and the two shared a brief moment. This suggested that the rivalry will continue until Owens gets well soon. Later, Aldis informed Orton about the cancelled status of their match and he no longer has a WrestleMania match this season. Following this news, Orton hit Aldis with an RKO to close the segment.
Earlier, PWN broke the news about Kevin Owens’ injury. They reported, “PWN has been told Kevin Owens is dealing with an undisclosed injury with no timetable set for a return to action. This puts Owens’ WrestleMania match vs Randy Orton in jeopardy with 15 days remaining until the show of shows .”
