Philadelphia 76ers’ point and shooting guard, Tyrese Maxey has reportedly been sidelined following a hamstring injury. Full evaluation of his injury awaits and it will determine the extent of the 76ers star’s condition.

Tyrese Maxey sustained an injury ahead of a 110-98 loss to the LA Clippers. Reportedly, Maxey underwent further medical evaluation on Thursday. “Not very good luck,” coach Nick Nurse said Thursday night sharing his condition. “We’ve got to hang in there and still find a way to compete and play better,” he continued.

ESPN’s Shams Charania reported on X that Philadelphia 76ers All-Star Tyrese Maxey “is expected to miss a couple of weeks because of a right hamstring injury, sources told ESPN. Full evaluation coming later Thursday but sides are bracing for Maxey’s absence. Sixers will take careful approach with the injury.”

The 24-year-old, who leads the Sixers with 27.6 points and had been topping the NBA with 39.7 minutes per game, is now sidelined due to hamstring trouble. His injury adds to a tough season for the Sixers as his playoff hopes are fading after a strong start in training camp. Meanwhile, Paul George, booed by Clippers fans despite scoring 18 points in his L.A. return, has played only twice due to a knee bruise. The 76ers have also been without Embiid all season for knee management and a brief suspension.

Maxey’s injury added to the series of bad news for the team as Embiid is also out. Additionally, the 76ers have faced heavy scrutiny this season adding up more NBA investigations. Their investigations (two) outweigh their wins (one). Just last month, the NBA fined them $100,000 for breaking the league’s player participation policy. This penalty came after the team made conflicting statements about Embiid’s health which sparked questions about transparency.

The 76ers need to pace up their game even without Maxey and Embiid as they are currently on a four-game losing streak. The team is set to take on the Los Angeles Lakers this Friday. Later, host Charlotte on Sunday, and face the New York Knicks on Tuesday. With the scheduled matches, the team is expected to climb up the ladder amid the series of bad news. Also, fans are eagerly anticipating Embiid’s season debut. Embiid is expected to come during the matchup against the Knicks.
