'X- Men' fame Simon Kinberg to create new Star Wars trilogy; reports

According to the latest reports, the sci-fi classic ‘Star Wars’ is all set to take a fresh take by developing a new trilogy spearheaded by writer - producer Simon Kinberg who is best known for ‘X-Men’ movies.


According to The Verge, Kathleen Kennedy, alongside Simon Kinberg will be bankrolling the trilogy. Reportedly the trilogy will revolve around Skywalker story. There are also chances that it could be a brand new saga which is connected to the other three Star Wars movies that the makers announced in 2023.

Although there has been no official confirmation about the same, the Star Wars fans are thriller to witness a new a refreshing trilogy even though the franchise has expanded with a long list of movies, series and even animated ones including ‘The Acolyte’, ‘Ahsoka’, and others. Also there hasn’t been any new Star Wars film that hit the big screens ever since the release of ‘The Rise of Skywalker’ in the year 2019, which received mixed reviews from the audiences.



Meanwhile, the makers had revealed three Star Wars movies last year and they will be helmed by James Mangold, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, and Dave Filoni. Reports said that the character Rey, played by Daisey Ridley will be making a comeback in the film dired by Obaid -Chinoy, where she will be establishing a new Jedi Order.


With the reports regarding a new trilogy ahead, the fans are eagerly waiting for ‘The Mandalorian & Grogu’ which is all set to hit the big screens on May 22, 2026. ‘The Mandalorian & Grogu’ will be helmed by Jon Favreau.
