Sunny Deol's action-packed film 'Jaat' continues to win hearts in its second week. The film also features Vinnet Kumar Singh, Regina Cassandra, and Sayami Kher in key supporting roles, and made under the direction of Gopichand Malineni, it is holding strong at the box office, even with competition from Akshay Kumar’s 'Kesari Chapter 2'.
'Jaat' earns ₹3.75 crore on the second Saturday
According to early estimates by Sacnilk, 'Jaat' earned ₹3.75 crore on its second Saturday (Day 10), slightly lower than Friday. This brings its total domestic collection to ₹69.40 crore.
'Jaat' inches closer to ₹100 crore worldwide
Till Day 9 (second Friday), 'Jaat' had earned ₹88 crore worldwide. After adding Saturday’s domestic earnings, the global total has reached ₹91.75 crore. The final Saturday figure is expected to fall between ₹91-92 crore. Trade experts now believe that 'Jaat' would not take too long to join the ₹100 crore club. On Sunday, it is expected to collect ₹5-6 crore in India. If the momentum continues, the film will likely cross ₹100 crore by the end of its second week.
'Jaat' controversy and public apology
The team of 'Jaat' has issued an apology after a scene from Randeep Hooda's character Ranatunga disappointed many in the Christian community. The scene showed Hooda expressing anger inside a church, imitating the crucifix, which led to protests. In response, the makers decided to remove the controversial scene and released a public apology.
'Jaat 2' announcement
The success of 'Jaat' has inspired the makers to start working on 'Jaat 2'. The sequel is expected to be even bigger and more action-packed.
