Television veteran Paresh Ganatra is no stranger to comedy, but his latest stint on Wagle Ki Duniya has brought an exciting new challenge to his career — playing not one, but three characters simultaneously. In an exclusive conversation, Paresh opened up about the trials, triumphs, and hilarious mix-ups of portraying Sudhanshu, Himanshu, and Dipanshu — a set of quirky triplet brothers who’ve added a whirlwind of comedy to the much-loved show.
“Playing three completely different characters is, of course, challenging,” he admitted. “Especially when it comes to switching mannerisms, voices, and body language. And in television, you don’t always get a lot of prep time, so that makes it even tougher. But I genuinely enjoyed it. Aatish has written these characters so beautifully that as an actor, all I had to do was execute. It’s both physically and mentally demanding — but absolutely worth it.”
When first offered the role, Paresh was thrilled. “When JD and Aatish told me there’s a story involving triplets, my immediate reaction was, ‘Of course, I’ll do it!’ It’s a rare opportunity for an actor. But after reading the first episode, I went back and joked, ‘I think you should do it, it’s going to be tough!’” he laughed. “Still, I’m glad I took it up. It’s a challenge I’ve truly embraced.”
The triplet brothers bring a fresh twist to Wagle Ki Duniya’s signature slice-of-life humor. “Each brother has his own quirks, and the way they react to everyday situations brings a new level of comedy and chaos to the show,” he shared. “I think the audience is going to love it.”
But playing three roles led to some laugh-worthy behind-the-scenes moments. “Sometimes I’d walk onto the set in the wrong costume or wearing the wrong character’s glasses and realize mid-shot, ‘Arre yaar, yeh toh doosre character ka chashma hai!’” he chuckled. “Thankfully, Sameer Kulkarni, our director, was super supportive. And working with a familiar cast like Sumeet, Pariva, Bharati ji, and Aanjjan ji made it so much easier.”
Reflecting on his comedic journey, Paresh said, “For me, it’s never about screen time. It’s about the strength of the role. And this triple role is one of the most exciting I’ve done. Each brother is completely mad in his own way, and that makes the performance pure fun. I just hope the audience enjoys watching it as much as I enjoyed doing it.”
