Deepak Tijori has filed a complaint at the Amboli Police Station in Mumbai, alleging that he was defrauded of Rs. 17.50 lakhs by producer Vikram Khakhar. The filing of the complaint took place on September 17, as reported by Bollywood Hungama.

In the FIR, it is stated that in 2019, a discussion took place between Deepak Tijori and Vikram Khakhar, who was then a line producer, regarding Tijori's delayed film 'Tipppsy'. Khakhar proposed to arrange the film’s shoot in London and mentioned that a payment of Rs. 15 lakhs would be necessary. On March 3, 2020, a total of Rs. 17.40 lakhs was transferred to Vikram, which included the specified amount and GST.

In the complaint, Deepak noted that whenever he inquired about the status of the film, Vikram would attribute the delays to the Covid-19 pandemic, stating that film shoots were stalled in Europe. Even after the pandemic's effects had subsided, Khakhar continued to make excuses for not moving forward with the film. Realising that Khakhar had no intention of helping to commence the shoot of 'Tipppsy', Tijori requested a refund of his money. Vikram claimed he would return the amount but failed to do so. On March 14, when Deepak messaged him, Khakhar assured him that he would meet, but he never showed up for the meeting.

Tijori said that when he looked at the bills apparently generated while trying to revive 'Tipppsy', he realised that no money had been spent on its production.

The FIR was registered under Section 420 (cheating) and Section 406 (criminal breach of trust) of the newly established Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Vikram Khakhar recently produced 'Bhaiyya Ji', featuring Manoj Bajpayee, and is also one of the producers of the upcoming film 'Talaakhon Mein Ek', starring Vikrant Massey and Raashii Khanna.
