Aamir Khan is going all out for his long-awaited film Sitaare Zameen Par. The movie which is already generating significant buzz for being a follow-up to the critically acclaimed Taare Zameen Par (2007), was back in the news this weekend, when reports claimed that the film's leading man was back on the sets, shooting a song sequence.
Months after Aamir was spotted shooting for the film with leading lady Genelia D'Souza, fresh reports reveal that the actors shot a special song for the film. According to Mid-Day, the song sequence choreographed by Vijay Ganguly, was an upbeat, feel-good track which was filmed over a five-day schedule in Marol, Mumbai. While it remains uncertain whether the number will be included in the film or if it will be used in the end-credits, the report indicates that it is intended to encapsulate the film’s emotional themes.
With rumours of the team eyeing a December release, reports suggest that post-production is currently nearing its completion, with promotional campaigns expected to roll out in early May. Aamir, who faced a major box office failure with his last film Laal Singh Chaddha, is said to be personally invested in promoting the film’s message and ensuring it resonates with audiences.
In a previous interview with Deadline Hollywood, Aamir described Sitaare Zameen Par as a “spiritual successor” to Taare Zameen Par — revisiting similar emotional ground but through a completely new story and characters. He also promised a lighter tone, incorporating humour and warmth while still delivering a heartfelt message.
Genelia was officially announced as the film’s female lead in 2023, while reports confirmed Darsheel Safary's return to the cast, though details about his role in the RS Prasanna directorial remain under wraps.
