JAIPUR: A protest by a group of lawyers outside Jaipur sessions court, collectorate, and Khasa Kothi on Monday led to massive traffic congestion in nearby areas, including Bani Park and MI Road, leaving commuters stranded.
The agitation was in response to an FIR lodged against five advocates at Sadar police station following an alleged scuffle on sesions court premises during a hearing three days ago. The FIR triggered outrage among lawyers, who accused police of targeting them unfairly.
A large number of advocates gathered at the court complex, claiming that police named even those who were not present during the incident.
Protesters alleged the FIR was lodged with malicious intent and demanded its immediate cancellation, along with action against the Sadar SHO.
