Colorado Springs police have identified Rupesh Jain as the suspect in a series of criminal activities that resulted in one injury and damage to multiple businesses. On September 18, 2024, in the early hours of the morning, the spree came to pass. Charges have been brought against Rupesh in relation to these instances. Authorities are still investigating in order to get more specifics about the events and motivations behind this criminal spree. Dr. Rupesh Jain, MD is a plastic surgeon in Colorado Springs, CO and has over 28 years of experience in the medical field. He graduated from Northeast Ohio Medical University in 1995. He is affiliated with UC Health Memorial Hospital Central. Colorado Springs Police charged Rupesh Jain, 53, with five different felonies in connection to a shooting spree that injured one man on Sunday morning. The incident started at around 6:15 a.m. when a Volta at Voyager apartment complex resident dialed 911. The resident claimed to have been hurt by a gunshot wound that happened while they were asleep. Officers arrived and found several gunshot shells coming from an adjacent apartment. Later on, it was discovered that this flat was vacant and that the occupant had not been found.A few kilometers north of the complex, cops heard further shooting while they looked for the apartment's occupant. Rupesh had drove to the KeyBank on Spectrum Loop, according to information subsequently obtained by authorities. There, he fired his gun into the company, seriously damaging it. Bullets broke at least five windows of the KeyBank, according to an 11 News crew. Officers were investigating the KeyBank incident when they got a second complaint regarding shooting at a Village Inn close to Woodmen and Powers. After firing rounds at the Village Inn, the suspect made an effort to enter the building.A few minutes later, authorities received a call about another gunshot at a different KeyBank, this one between Woodmen and Lexington. Authorities think that both of the KeyBank attacks involved the same person. A shelter-in-place order was issued for the suspect's apartment complex's occupants during the crime spree. About an hour after the first gunshot, Rupesh went back to his residence and was arrested. Before 8 a.m., the shelter-in-place was removed. The victim from the Volta at Voyager apartment building is anticipated to live, according to police confirmation. There were no other injuries recorded.
