A top executive of Amazon Warehousing Services (AWS) came under fire on social media for allegedly wearing a necklace with a pendant in the shape of a map of Israel, West Bank and Gaza with a flag of Palestine on it. Ruba Borno wore the necklace in a video posted on the Instagram account of AWS. Amazon has since deleted the video and said a new one will be uploaded. Ruba Burno is the Vice President of specialists and partners at AWS - Amazon's cloud services for digital enterprises. She was promoting an Amazon conference set to take this fall in Las Vegas in the controversial video. As soon as the minute detail in the video was shared on social media, it went viral. The map of Israel, West Bank and Gaza is suggestive, to say the least, as it disregards the two-state solution to the problem in the area, and calls for a Palestinian country containing the territories of Israel, West Bank and Gaza. People commented underneath the video, ciriticising Borno and even calling for a boycott of Amazon.“The video shot was not meant to be a political statement, but we’ve taken down the video and will repost a new one in the coming days,” an Amazon spokesperson was quoted saying by the New York Post.
