Indian-origin USA pacer Saurabh Netravalkar bagged a lot of eyeballs after his performance at the T20 World Cup in June, especially after he played a match-winning role in the group stage game against Pakistan, that the USA won in the super over. While he mostly gained popularity for his Indian origin, an interesting fact was that he was a full-time employee at tech giant Oracle.Having started with recreational cricket, Netravalkar eventually became the skipper of the national team, playing a crucial role in USA Cricket's development on the international stage.In a viral video doing rounds on the internet, Netravalkar explained how he balances his career at Oracle and his passion for cricket during an interview. "It's the love for it. I am passionate about tech as well as the sport. As long as you are passionate about it, it doesn't seem like work and you love doing it. You just have to find the time to do it and compartmentalise how you switch on and off and give 100% to what you are doing at that point of time," Netravalkar told Oracle TV. Watch the video here:

In 2010, Netravalkar took part in the 2010 U19 World Cup where his team suffered a defeat to Pakistan in the quarters. He represented India back then and was a part of the squad that had KL Rahul, Ashok Menaria and Harshal Patel in its ranks. "From tech to cricket, the game has evolved to use analytics a lot. Knowing how analytics work helps me to know where to look for them and those patterns might be a key changemaker between a win and a loss because the margins are really low in tough competitive games," Netravalkar said. The USA pacer was last seen in action on Monday against Namibia as the States look to qualify for the 2027 ODI World Cup. Netravalkar bowled a brilliant spell of 10-2-41-2 as they restricted Nambia to 199 and chased it down in the 42nd over in the game in Windhoek, the capital of the African nation.
