Chennai: Incessant rain in the city has affected the daily life of Chennai residents. With many being displaced, and left with no food other essential items, the state government has started a drive to provide essential supplies and food packets to those affected by the recent rains in the city and surrounding areas. The Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) has collaborated with Garuda Aerospace, a drone start-up, for this initiative. The advanced technology will also be used for aerial surveys to find out the damager, identify vulnerable areas as well as for coordinating relief efforts. Agnishwar Jayaprakash, Garuda Aerospace Founder-CEO, in a company statement on Wednesday said, "We are deeply honoured to contribute our expertise and technology to the relief efforts in Chennai. Our drones have proven their capabilities in disaster response operations, and we are confident that they will make a significant difference in reaching those in need".
On Wednesday, the rain stopped, and the state government shifted its focus on providing relief in the affected areas.
