Madhuri Dixit, one of the most loved stars of Bollywood, has been winning hearts for decades with her grace, charisma and timeless performances. Currently touring Canada as part of her Golden Girl of Bollywood live concert series, she found herself at the centre of an unexpected storm after her Toronto show went viral for all the wrong reasons.
A video shared by attendees claimed that Madhuri Dixit arrived nearly three hours late to the event, leaving fans frustrated. The post, which quickly spread across social media, even advised people not to attend her tour, saying it wasn’t worth the money. Many users echoed the same sentiment, accusing the organisers of poor planning and unprofessionalism.
However, the organisers have now come forward to clarify what they call “misleading commentary”. True Sound Live Ltd., the company behind the show, released a statement asserting that the event began exactly as scheduled. According to them, the concert opened on time with vibrant performances by singers from Indian Idol, followed by a question-and-answer session at 8:30 PM and Madhuri Dixit’s main act, which was planned as a 60-minute segment.
The organisers said that the confusion arose because Madhuri Dixit’s own management team gave her incorrect call times, leading to her delayed arrival at around 10 PM. They described the situation as completely beyond their control and insisted that the event had followed the planned sequence of performances.
Some fans also expressed disappointment that the show felt more like an interview or talk session rather than the high-energy musical spectacle they had expected. This added to the backlash online, where users debated whether the organisers or Madhuri Dixit’s team should take responsibility.

Interestingly, this isn’t the first time such controversy has surrounded a Bollywood live event abroad. Earlier this year, singer Neha Kakkar faced similar criticism in Melbourne for arriving late to her concert and later apologised, citing mismanagement.
As for Madhuri Dixit, she has not yet commented on the Toronto incident. While the organisers maintain that the schedule was followed and the performances delivered as promised, fans continue to share their disappointment online. For now, the beloved star’s Canadian tour continues but the debate over what really went wrong in Toronto is far from over.
