Don't buy a Samsung Galaxy S25 until you've seen 'massive' upgrade coming soon

The cameras are impressive, it's built to last, features smart Galaxy AI and decent battery life. It's also powered by the mighty Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, which makes sure it keeps pace with all your daily digital needs.

The S25 range comes highly recommended, but be warned if you are thinking of buying one.

US technology firm Qualcomm has just announced the launch of its new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip which takes performance, effiiency and gaming to a whole new level.

In fact, Qualcomm boasts that Gen 5 offers "the fastest mobile CPU in the world " and delivers "massive upgrades and experiences that users want today."

With this super brain inside, Android phones will get an ultimate boost that will make all current devices - including the S25 - look pretty inferior.

"With Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, you are at the centre of your mobile experience. It enables personalised AI agents to see what you see, hear what you hear and think with you in real time," said Chris Patrick, senior vice president and general manager of mobile handset, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.

"Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 pushes the boundaries of personal AI, allowing you to experience the future of mobile technology today."

It's yet to be confirmed exactly what phones will get the Gen 5 but Qualcomm has said manufactures including OnePlus, OPPO, POCO, realme, REDMI, RedMagic, ROG. Samsung is also named on the list and was even present at the launch of the new processor.e

If history repeats itself, the next flagship from the firm could be the Galaxy S26, and it may arrive as soon as January.

That's just over three months away.

Of course, this all speculation for now but if you want the ulltimate Android upgrade you might be best holding off buying a new phone right now as a big boost is on its way.
