your windows can often be a tedious chore, as no matter how long you spend cleaning them, you are often left with , and the same goes for mirrors. However, that no longer has to be the case as Becky Rapinchuk, a cleaning blogger, has shared the ultimate recipe for a spray that will leave surfaces both sparkling clean and streak-free.
"This recipe is one I've shared before - it's seriously the best recipe for cleaning glass and mirrors that you'll try," the Clean Mama blog post reads. Becky also says that the homemade solution is a quicker and easier way to get through the chore, leaving you with "a house full of clean windows".
Glass and Mirror Spray:- 1 1/2 cups of water
- 1/12 tablespoons white vinegar
- 1 1/2 tablespoons rubbing alchohol
- 3 drops peppermint essential oil (optional)
"It works because it harnesses the power of vinegar for cleaning and the works to help the solution dry quickly and streak-free", she adds.
All you need to do is mix the contents together in a spray bottle, spray the solution "liberally" onto the glass, and then wipe it clean with a cleaning cloth. The expert advises wiping from top to bottom and left to right.
For larger windows, Becky recommends a "heavy-duty" window washing solution, which involves washing up liquid, rubbing alcohol, and warm water.
To use the heavy-duty window washing solution, add four tablespoons of washing-up liquid and rubbing alcohol to a large flat container before filling it with half a gallon of warm water. Bring the container over to your windows and place it on a large bath towel or two to avoid any drips or spills.
"In order to wash windows this way, you need a squeegee," she advises. Dip the squeegee in the solution, pressing any excess water out, and then apply the pad to your window. Then work left to right and top to bottom with the rubber side, wiping off any excess water as you work.
Then finish off with a microfibre cloth to wipe any streaks and drips on the windows, as it will help to keep it streak and lint-free.
