The more spring bulbs we plant in the autumn, the more spring flowers we will enjoy. I use a planting technique called a spring bulb lasagna, and which will give a continuous flow of spring flowers between March and May.
The bulb lasagne planting technique is a superb way of creating a continuous spring flower display in pots, tubs, containers, beds, and borders. The aim is to have flowers popping up from March to May. If you order your quality spring bulbs, including crocuses, hyacinths, daffodils, alliums, and tulips, and quality peat-free compost, you can do this simple planting technique right now.
So how does the spring bulb lasagne work? If you plant allium bulbs at the base of a pot, add a layer of compost, then plant daffodil bulbs, add a layer of compost, then plant hyacinth bulbs and then cover those to the top of your pot, then you have a bulb lasagne.
These three layers of spring bulbs will give you a continuous flow of flowers from March to May.
You can use this spring bulb lasagne planting technique in your garden to create a continuous flow of spring flowers in your garden.
The more pots, containers, planters, beds and borders that contain spring bulbs, the bigger and better, so the planning and planting starts right now.
