Princess Charlotte sparks frenzy as she poses with Spanish royals during Euros appearance

Princess Charlotte had driven royal fans into a frenzy after she made her first major appearance with dad Prince William this weekend at the Euros final in Switzerland. England fans erupted with joy across the country this Sunday as the team defended their Euros title in a penalty shootout win over Spain in the final in Basel.

Chloe Kelly scored the winning spot-kick following two huge saves from goalkeeper Hannah Hampton, sending supporters in fan zones into raptures. Charlotte was snapped cheering on the Lionesses after their triumphant victory against Spain.

But she was also spotted posing alongside Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia of Spain.

The Spanish heiress and her sister had also travelled to Switzerland to support their country's team.

They were seen standing in the stands close to the British royals, but new pictures of them posing and meeting Prince William and Princess Charlotte have emerged online.

Prince William and Princess Kate's official X account shared a group photo of the royals together after the second half had ended with the caption: "Bring on the second half! May the best team win."

Meanwhile, the Spanish royal household uploaded its own pictures from the day, with snaps showing Leonor and Sofia both speaking to Charlotte and William inside the stadium at St. Jakob-Park.

Royal fans went into a frenzy after the sweet snaps emerged and took to social media to express their jubilation.

One user wrote on X: "A rivalry but always a respected rivalry in soccer. So cool to see the royals hanging out."

A second person said: "Lovely photo. [blush emoji]"

A third user added: "We love to see the Royal Family with their royal cousins."

Another one chimed: "I love this picture."

A fifth one commented: "All my favorite princess[es]."

Leonor and Sofia are distant cousins to both Prince William and Charlotte as her father, King Felipe of Spain, is a descendant of Queen Victoria.

Later, a picture of the Prince of Wales with his arm around his daughter Princess Charlotte was posted to X following the presentation of the trophy to the Lionesses, with the caption "Champions of Europe".

Following the Lionesses' victory, William and Charlotte congratulated the team in a short statement, saying: "What a game! Lionesses, you are the champions of Europe and we couldn't be prouder of the whole team. Enjoy this moment England."

The statement was the first message Charlotte has personally signed on the Prince and Princess of Wales's X account.
