Luke Littler sent a clear message to the likes of Luke Humphries and Michael van Gerwen after winning a Pro Tour event in Wigan. Speaking after his victory in the final, the Nuke simply said: "It's just what I do."

Victory in Wigan was Littler's ninth title of the year on the Pro Tour as he continues to impress. The 17-year-old has barely put a foot wrong since he burst onto the scene at the Alexandra Palace last year when he finished runner-up in the World Championship final, pocking £200,000 for good measure.

Littler's incredible debut season has seen him develop from an unlikely World Championship challenger to a bonafide superstar. As he hunts more accolades, those around him have been put on notice.

Reaching 10 titles for the year would see him join an illustrious club that includes the likes of Phil Taylor, Peter Wright and Van Gerwen. The way Littler is throwing at the moment it seems a case of when not if that happens.

Able to seamlessly change his throw, Littler revealed that he adapts to whatever he feels most comfortable doing on either the floor or the stage. "I do change my throw when I'm on the floor," the youngster admitted. "The floor is totally different from the stage, and I'll just find something comfortable, not change it completely."

When asked by Dan Dawson what precisely he alters, Littler replied: "Usually, when I bring up the dart, I flick the flight, or it's just one coming over from the top and downwards. It's just how I feel on the floor."

Changing one's throw is no mean feat, and when the teenager's ability to do it so easily was questioned, he stated: "It's just what I do," in an ominous statement to his rivals. Switching up his technique without impacting performance should send shivers down the spines of Littler's competitors.

One of those on the tour who can stand up to Littler is the current world champion and darting number one, Humphries. The current Matchplay and World Cup holder is one of the only stars who has gotten the better of the teenager, but even he has struggled to match the Nuke at all times.

After their infamous first meeting, Littler bested Humphries in their subsequent six clashes across the Premier League - a competition the teenager went on to win - as well as the World Series and Pro Tour.

They've traded blows since, but it seems as though Littler has the world-leading star's number - as he did in Wigan when storming to the title, calmly beating Cool Hand 6-2 along the way with his altered throw.

Even a player as mighty as Van Gerwen has started to lose his grip on containing The Nuke. Despite often getting the better of Littler in the Premier League and knocking him out of the Matchplay in July, their most recent meeting in the World Series Finals told a worrying tale.

On his way to claiming his eighth title, Littler put Van Gerwen to the sword 11-4 in the semi-final, averaging a whopping 107 to MVG's 99. Even world number two Michael Smith, who Littler also defeated by the same scoreline in the final, has barely been able to lay a glove on the youngster as of late - losing their last four head-to-heads.
