are a result of hard water and tend to accumulate on your taps over time and can be difficult to eliminate. Limescale needs to be removed from taps as it can trap bacteria that will make surfaces unhygienic.
Joseph Clark, a expert from Kinetico has shared that limescale stains can take a considerable amount of time to remove unless you use the correct cleaning products. He stated: "One way of removing the limescale around your chrome tap is by using a home remedy - lemon juice. The acid in this chemical is antibacterial and antiseptic, which means it is the perfect go-to before purchasing professional products."

Experts at Tapron also recommend using lemon juice to remove tap limescale, claiming that it is "highly powerful at breaking down calcium carbonate deposits".
Lemon juice contains citric acid which will weaken limescale to soften it and make it easier to wipe away without having to scrub.
To use this method to remove limescale from your sink taps, all you need to do is fill a small container with lemon juice before taking a clean cloth and submerging it in the container - leave the cloth to soak for at least five minutes.
Wrap the soaked cloth tightly around the tap, ensuring the areas with visible limescale are covered. Secure it with an elastic band to keep it in place.
Leave the cloth secured to the tap for at least 10 minutes for a "guaranteed way to make tap limescale vanish".
During this time, squeeze the cloth now and again to release more acid onto the limescale.
Once the time is up, simply remove the cloth, wipe away the limescale and the stains should easily wipe away.
Finish off by polishing the tap with a clean, dry cloth to restore its shine.
To prevent future buildup, regularly clean your taps using the lemon juice method. Wiping down the taps after each use can also help minimize limescale formation.
