This Morning viewers were quick to voice their complaints just moments into Wednesday's episode. The show, hosted by Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard, kicked off with the festive tune It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas.

The hosts, aged 47 and 49 respectively, announced that there are only 91 days left until Christmas, leading into a segment featuring Britain's Got Talent winner, Sydnie Christmas, who presented a festive shopping guide.

However, many viewers took to Twitter, now X, to express their dismay at the early Christmas content, given that it's still only September, reports the Mirror.

One viewer tweeted: "Not a countdown to Christmas #ThisMorning." Another posted: "It's not even October yet.... #ThisMorning." (sic)

While another fan questioned: "Why are they talking about Christmas?"

Elsewhere, another added: "#ThisMorning @thismorning The Christmas buildup shouldn't start until 1st December." And a different fan added: "Not Christmas yet! #ThisMorning." (sic)

Meanwhile, another put: "Remind me in November please, I couldn't give a toss about Christmas now." A different fan remarked: "Just tuned in and they are talking about Christmas #thismorning." (sic)

One more added: "Sydnie Christmas doing an item about Christmas. In September #ThisMorning." (sic)

It comes as host Ben admitted "I can't see" as he opened up on his eye struggles during Tuesday's This Morning. At the beginning of the programme, Cat told viewers "It's a bit touch and go" as she referred to Ben, who was forced to wear his glasses to present the show.

Before they even had a chance to introduce their guests, Ben jumped in with: "I think I've got it. I think it's here, I think it's here."

"It's very touch and go today, viewers," Cat chimed in as Ben continued: "It's uncomfortable, it's giving me some gyp. I am not sure they're the answer."

"Can you sound any older?" Cat joked. "Your what-focals are giving you some gyp?" Donning an impression of an elderly person, Ben said: "My varifocals are giving my gyp, Cat, sort me out."

Trying to move on with the programme's agenda, Cat said: "We have got a great show for you today."

It comes as former This Morning star Phillip Schofield revealed his TV return on Wednesday. The presenter, 62, is to return to television in an exclusive three-part series for Channel 5 called Cast Away.

This Morning airs on weekdays at 10am on both ITV and ITV X.
