Golf LIVE: Open start time changed as PGA Tour star banned after angry outburst

Day one of the 153rd Open Championship is underway as Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler go in search of another major honour. Padraig Harrington was first to get underway off the tee on what is sure to be an exciting four days of golf. McIlroy struggled at the PGA Championship and US Open, after his Masters win, but will be determined to bounce back on home soil.

Rain is set to hit the course at Royal Portrush on Thursday, casting doubt over those scheduled to play in the later sessions, who would have watched on as Phil Mickelson made an incredible bunker shot in the early hours of the morning. He holed out from the sand to save par on the third hole.
