Chelsea and Arsenal could do third transfer after Noni Madueke 'agreement'

Chelsea and Arsenal could complete yet another transfer after Noni Madueke, should the 23-year-old winger seal a switch to the Emirates Stadium this summer. The Gunners have reportedly agreed personal terms with Madueke ahead of opening club-to-club talks with Chelsea, with whom they have already done business.

Goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga left Stamford Bridge for Arsenal in a £5million move following a productive loan spell at Bournemouth last season. Madueke is now in Mikel Arteta's sights as he eyes a versatile attacking signing, with Eberechi Eze and Morgan Rogers also on the shortlist.

Chelsea could make a move of their own in pursuit of a third transfer between the two London rivals amid uncertainty surrounding Ethan Nwaneri's future.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are showing interest in the 18-year-old winger after he entered the final year of his Arsenal contract.

The North London giants are said to be in talks with Nwaneri over a new deal, but the teenage sensation wants game time guaranteed.

Nwaneri established himself as a first-team player last season, scoring nine goals and registering two assists in 37 appearances.

The England Under-21's starts were sporadic, though, and he shares his natural right-wing position with Arsenal's talisman, Bukayo Saka.

But he boasts versatility and would become one of Europe's most sought-after free agents if he were to walk away from the Gunners next year.

Chelsea are in the frame, yet if Nwaneri is looking for regular minutes, a switch to Stamford Bridge might not be his best option.

The Blues have wasted no time in bolstering Enzo Maresca's already-stacked attack this summer.

Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap joined in a £30million transfer before the £50m arrival of Joao Pedro from Brighton and Hove Albion.

On Saturday, Chelsea announced the signing of Borussia Dortmund winger Jamie Gittens in a £52m deal.

Cole Palmer, Pedro Neto, Joao Felix, Nicolas Jackson, Christopher Nkunku, Raheem Sterling, Marc Guiu, Armando Broja and Tyrique George are also in Maresca's attacking ranks.

Madueke could be eyeing an exit as a direct result of Chelsea's recruitment, although further departures are expected.

An intra-London switch to a club that expects to challenge for the Premier League next season, unsurprisingly, appeals.
