Alexander Bublik mocked Ugo Humbert and told the French star that he was "not so loud today" after losing the Paris Masters final to .

Humbert had been the story of the competition, threatening to become the first home champion at Bercy since 2001, having defeated and Karen Khachanov before going down to the new world No. 2.

He had previously , before getting his way later in the tournament, though the temperature was lifted during a semi-final win over Khachanov.

The Russian star picked up an , gifting Humbert the win as he conceded defeat by letting the ball fly past his hand.

Humbert was still celebrating excessively with each successful point, which a visibly injured Khachanov was unimpressed with. They had some choice words when shaking hands at the net and the 2018 champion later claimed that .

He told Ziggo Sport: "I told him at the net to show more respect. He has no idea how to behave. I'm always fair play. I will congratulate him if he behaves like a normal person. That's all I can say.

"You can be with the crowd. I have no problem with that. Did you see me celebrate yesterday? Grigor (Dimitrov) was exhausted. He wasn't injured at the end, he told me. Did you see me jumping and screaming 'Come on! Allez!' After every point.. do you think it's okay?

"You can celebrate after with the crowd no problem. You can do whatever you want. But while you see injuries are part of the game to do it while you see the guy is on the ground? Okay, see you next time."

And now Bublik, who has played doubles with Khachanov on several occasions, mocked Humbert after failing to win his home event.

On a where Humbert was captured looking into the mirror and getting ready for his final, Bublik commented: "Not so loud today lol."

Humbert has not publicly replied to Bublik, but after falling short to Zverev, insisted that he has no regrets about his run to the Paris Masters final.

"It was a beautiful week, despite my defeat today. My feeling is that I gave it my all, I have no regrets," Humbert said. "He was stronger than me in every aspect of tennis. I couldn't recover from yesterday's match enough, but congrats to him."

"It was tough. I tried until the end to be faithful to myself, to my values, to put up a battle until the end. When it's not over, there's still hope, and with this public, it's crazy."
