Tax Refund Scam: The Income Tax Department has warned the common people about a new fraud related to tax refund. The department said that some people are sending fake emails in the name of income tax refund and asking people for their bank details and personal information.

The Income Tax Department wrote on the social media platform 'X' (formerly Twitter) that the Income Tax Department never asks any taxpayer for his bank details or personal data through email. Giving an example of a fake email, the department said, "You have to do manual confirmation for tax refund" - such emails are completely fake. Do not click on any such suspicious link.

The department has advised to use only the official website www.incometax.gov.in to check the status of tax refund.

Now you can fill ITR-2 form through online mode.

Let us tell you that the Income Tax Department has announced that the ITR-2 form is now available on the e-filing portal, which can be filled online with pre-filled data. The ITR-2 form is especially for those individuals and Hindu Undivided Families (HUF) who have income from capital gains, but do not have any income from business or profession.
