Tonight, 's latest series of Open House will make viewers squirm as couples try out 'non monogamy', while Julian () is struggling in Austin and there's a scrum to win in Interior Design Masters.
See below for my top telly picks.
Pick Of The Day... OPEN HOUSE: THE GREAT SEX EXPERIMENT, CHANNEL 4, 10pmCurious couples who want to open up their horizons check-in to a ‘non-monogamy retreat’ in this jaw-dropping series. The idea is that couples who want to try out an open relationship can spend time with men and women who are completely used to this world. Effy Blue, non monogamy coach, says: “It provides a space that you don’t have anywhere else. You can play, you can connect, you can explore, you can experiment and you have a support network around you. I’m looking forward to seeing people get out of their comfort zone and really explore non monogamy.”
A gang of sexy ‘residents’ are on hand, hanging out by the pool in their bikinis, ready with a fireside cocktail or more… Meanwhile, new couples turn up like lambs to the slaughter. It all makes for fascinating, occasionally eye-popping viewing - expect sex scenes every ten minutes.
First to arrive are Mark, 40, and his girlfriend Tanith, 30, who want to find out if having sex with other people can build trust. Mark has a wandering eye, so Tanith wonders if this might solve the problem. “I tend to feel trapped in relationships,” says Mark. Childhood sweethearts, married couple Chloe and Paul, both 27, have never been with anyone else - but Chloe wants to explore her attraction to women. “This feels like the start of a scary movie when everything’s well,” says Paul, while Chloe adds: “A lot of things could go wrong.” And yet, here they all are… Expect fizzing chemistry and high emotions.
Best Of The Rest... INTERIOR DESIGN MASTERS WITH ALAN CARR, BBC1, 8pmThere’s plenty to tackle for the remaining five designers as they head to the Allianz Stadium in Twickenham, the iconic home of England rugby. Their task is overhaul hospitality suites - which at the moment are corporate, grey rooms with nothing but a boring table and chairs. “It looks like a dentists’ waiting room,” says Craig, who won Stand Out Space last week in a dog-eat-dog task at Battersea Dogs and Cats Home.
The designers must create a premium experience for diehard rugby fans with a swanky bar and stylish dining area. Host Alan says: “I’m expecting everyone to work like elite athletes. I want to see speed, I want to see power, I want to see team work.” Their plans include a posh pub theme, a female rugby tribute and a vintage gentleman’s club - it will be a scrum to win a place in the quarter-final. Restaurateur Nisha Katona helps judge Michelle Ogundehin decide.

As this charming little comedy continues, it’s been a speedy fall from grace for author Julian (Ben Miller) since he got cancelled for reposting a Tweet by a white supremacist. Having been scrabbling to save his career, finally his publisher decides to give him the dreaded speech… he’s fired and his remaining 100,000 books are to be pulped. Can he buy them back? No, because their logo is on the books and they don’t want to be associated with fascism.
In an act of dedication to his new dad, Austin (Michael Theo) leads the charge to break into the warehouse to rescue whatever's left. Across town, in her new career liberated from Julian, Ingrid (Sally Phillips) has an important meeting with a charismatic ghostwriter. And Julian would like to know when Ingrid is going to finally forgive him for fathering a child with another woman and destroying the thing that creatively sustained them for 25 years. Not soon…
