Liverpool Football Club: champions of England. And this time, they did it properly.
We all saw the scenes at Anfield on Sunday, as supporters made up for lost time (and pints) during the pandemic to toast . But amid the celebrations and emotion, there were those sober enough to have their minds on next season.
That'll be the goal for Arne Slot's side in 2026, as they bid to win back-to-back titles. Slot only needed one addition to the squad which left him and he, Federico Chiesa, barely played, but the Reds boss , one where the cash is set to be splashed.
and got that started earlier this month by , leaving with a decision to make about staying at his boyhood club or joining . With or without their star at right-back, Slot's men will have to keep getting stronger to hold their firm grip on the trophy.
With that in mind, we asked the Mirror Football team about what Liverpool need to go back-to-back?

John CrossThe very best title-winning teams strengthen when they are on top - and that is why they stay there. It sounds utterly bizarre but I am convinced that wants a big overhaul of his Liverpool squad this summer, not just from what he has hinted at publicly but also noises within the game.
That could mean two new full-backs, a midfielder and a new striker. Could there even be an upgrade at centre-half to play alongside Virgil van Dijk?
Trent Alexander-Arnold is a huge target for Real Madrid. looks set to go. If they can get a good fee for Nunez, then a new centre forward - 's Alexander Isak is a dream for a lot of clubs - could be very much on the agenda.
has been an incredible servant, a club legend, but they probably need competition. 's Milos Kerkez has been in their sights.
This Liverpool team has been sensational. What a fantastic season. And if they can bring in three top signings plus another squad addition then the rest of the Premier League will be running scared.
Andy DunnSeriously, the gap between Liverpool and the rest has been so significant this season, there is absolutely no reason why Arne Slot's side cannot make it back-to-back titles. They have the Premier League's best goalkeeper, a rock-solid defence, a dominant midfield and the most potent strike force in the division.
Even if Trent Alexander-Arnold goes to Spain, the effectiveness of the team is unlikely to be reduced. It is, though, undeniable that they have had a very good run in terms of injuries - or lack of them - so you would expect Slot to bolster the squad.
He will probably recruit serious competition for Andy Robertson on the left flank and don't be surprised if there is a big-money move for another goal-scoring option. always tried to freshen up a title-winning team, no matter how comfortable the margin of success had been and Slot will attempt to do likewise.
But this Liverpool team is a model of efficiency and should already be considered title favourites for next season.
Who should Liverpool sign this summer? Give us your picks in the .

Liverpool need to enjoy the moment first of all. Winning league titles is not easy, especially not when you have to compete with the spending power of .
They can be sure City will spend big this summer to try to wrestle the title back from Merseyside, so Liverpool will need to strengthen. A left-back appears to be a priority with a striker probably needed if Darwin Nunez gets moved on.
They may look to add more depth to midfield and central defence, too. A right-back will be needed as either competition or cover for Conor Bradley if Trent Alexander-Arnold leaves as expected. Decisions will be made on players with contracts started to head towards the final year, too.
Expect it to be a busy summer at Liverpool in the transfer market as they look to stay ahead of their rivals. Once the heads and hangovers have cleared, of course.
David AndersonTo keep succeeding in any walk of life, you can't sit still and Liverpool need to build on their record-equalling 20th title success. They got away without making any big signings because Arne Slot did such a magnificent job with the squad left by Jurgen Klopp.
They cannot think like that this summer and it's clear they have much work to do, perhaps matching 2018 when they splashed out £175million on the likes of and . They desperately need a left-back because of Andy Robertson's decline this season and Bournemouth's Milos Kerkez is the hot favourite.
They need another centre-half, despite Virgil van Dijk signing a new two-year deal. The Reds skipper will be 34 in July and can't go on forever. Slot doesn't seem to trust or Jarell Quansah and Bournemouth's new international Dean Huijsen is highly regarded.
Trent Alexander-Arnold's imminent departure to Real Madrid will leave a hole that Conor Bradley can't fill on his own and Jeremie Frimpong is a contender to come in. They could also sign another forward if they can offload Darwin Nunez to the and it looks set to be a busy summer.
There's been a growing theory that this title-winning side will immediately be carved up with as many as five new first-team additions coming in, but I don't necessarily subscribe to that.
Liverpool's successes under Jurgen Klopp and now Arne Slot have been built on being clever in the transfer market, with caution usually the watchword. It is also a decision NOT to sign a player, and the fact that they've won this league title without a significant new addition last summer bar the manager really should be a lesson for the transfer-hungry among us.
That said, some new players are clearly needed. Defence will be a key area to strengthen, with both full-back positions and potentially a centre-back added. A new forward will also be needed too, and there is scope for another midfielder.
But crucially none of these players, with the possible exception of the right-back and forward, need to go straight into the side at the beginning of next season. Slot will continue to fine tune things and move things along towards what is more his brand of football, but he'll do it gradually. There's nothing for Liverpool to be afraid of going into next season after all.
Felix KeithThe fact Liverpool managed to win the Premier League title after doing next to nothing in the preceding shows that, sometimes, the significance of transfers are over-exaggerated. But Liverpool clearly can't place blind trust in their current crop.
Arne Slot wanted another central midfielder last summer and further depth is still needed there, with the Dutchman unable to rotate much this season. The Reds are yet to replace and need back-up to Virgil van Dijk and - who I think needs proper competition for his place.
If, as expected, Trent Alexander-Arnold does leave for Real Madrid then a replacement is needed, as I don't think Conor Bradley is ready to play week in, week out. Jeremie Frimpong is a different style of full-back but could fit nicely.
If possible, Liverpool could do with selling Darwin Nunez and signing a much more reliable goalscorer because Mo Salah can't be expected to replicate his ludicrous campaign. Viktor Gyokeres looks a good bet, having banged in a frankly silly number of goals in Portugal.

If Liverpool proved anything this season, it's that big signings don't necessarily make or break your season - it's far more important that you work with the quality you have and utilise your squad to the best of its ability. Having said that, Liverpool were in a fortunate place that their squad was already filled with world-class quality and a winning mentality.
Next season, Manchester City should be back with a vengeance and will also likely strengthen in a bid to go one better and finally win the league. Liverpool don't need too much to keep their heads above water, they just need to level up slightly.
Some future planning wouldn't go amiss. Virgil van Dijk and Mo Salah might have signed new deals but Liverpool should start bringing in the next generation to ensure they can set up a dynasty under Arne Slot - just as Jurgen Klopp did by bringing in a string of talented youngsters that really blossomed.
I would say they need a new right-back to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold, a young centre-back (Dean Huijsen?), a new left-back (Milos Kerkez?) and a new striker in case Darwin Nunez goes. That would really give Liverpool the building blocks to push on again next year and keep hold of their crown.
Sam MeadeAs bizarre as it might sound, Liverpool need to show a side to themselves that we haven't seen. Now admittedly the fact Liverpool haven't been challenged isn't their fault, but you see another side of a team when they come under pressure.
It is unlikely that Arsenal and City will be so poor, which means Slot's outfit will have to prove they can play under the pressure of needing to win, needing to respond when they play 24 hours after their rival has won to go top. In terms of numbers and players, its well-documented that Slot has worked with a very small group of players and, if a major injury hits, he will need a deeper squad of individuals he trusts.
More firepower to ease the burden on Salah is likely to be crucial with another body in midfield also a key acquisition. Despite the departure of Trent Alexander-Arnold appearing inevitable, in Conor Bradley they look to have a ready made replacement.
More important than any improvements to the squad - two new full backs and a centre-forward, the obvious priorities - they need the chasing pack to fail in their attempts to rebuild and recharge. The most impressive aspect of Arne Slot's debut season has been their consistency while the other contenders have been sketchy.
Draw-prone Arsenal and Manchester City can point to injury problems not felt so keenly at Anfield. But they will return in August with renewed vigour and that will be of far greater concern than changes to Slot's squad.
