American visits Primark in UK for first time and one thing leaves her floored

An American visited in the UK for the first time and was surprised by one thing. Primark is a popular affordable retailer in Britain with some outlets across Europe and the US. As it also has a home and beauty section and items for men, women and children, many people in the UK pop into their local Primark branch for whatever they’re looking for. Some are regular Primark and will go there specifically for certain products, such as pyjamas. After hearing so much about it, Caiti Mackenzie, from Florida, USA, visited the well-loved retailer during her trip to the UK and in a video on .

Speaking in the clip, she said: “We’re here in England, I’ve heard so much about Primark but I’ve never been so let’s check it out.”

Her first impressions after walking into the Bath store were “Target meets TJ Maxx.”

She referred to two large American discount department store chains that sell a wide range of products, including clothes, electronics, groceries, beauty products and accessories.

Walking through the store, Caiti noted that “everything’s very affordable though” while having a look at a cami top for £3.50.

The beachwear caught her eye next as she found clothes that she said were “right up my alley.” Browsing through more summer clothes, she remarked: “They have cute colours and cute clothes in here.”

As she carried on exploring the shop, she was pleasantly surprised by one thing. Caiti was impressed by how many products she saw that looked similar to those made by more high end brands.

She claimed to find products that resembled Birkenstock shoes, a Primark brand CC cream that she thought looked like IT cosmetics and a makeup brush that reminded her of e.l.f Cosmetics.

Taking a look at the other items on offer, she added: “Just when I think it ends, it keeps going. This store is huge.”

She took a look at the sunhats, sunglasses, belts and makeup. Caiti shared: “I just like looking and seeing what the difference is in all these places like there’s so much cool stuff similar to US stuff.”

After this, she spotted some heatless curlers and mentioned that they were “really affordable” compared to other brands.

She ended her Primark experience by saying: “Primark, you’re cool, I like you.” The American tourist admitted that she would have bought some items if she had space in her suitcase, but she was “glad” that she went in and had a wander through the store.

Her TikTok video has garnered more than 200 comments and other people gave their views on Primark.

One said: “We have some in the tri state area!! We love them!” Another added: “Primark is what my bank account hate(s). I love Primark half my wardrobe is Primark lol."
