This week holidaymakers could bag some serious bargains on a host of travel essentials during the Amazon Prime Day sales event. Running until Friday, July 11 Amazon will be slashing prices across many of their best loved travel products.
While its easy to remember to pack sun cream and sandals, there are plenty of other low-cost purchases that can make travelling that little bit easier. From mobile chargers to waterproof wallets and everything in between, fellow travel enthusiasts can snap up these essentials for less.
Shoppers need to be Prime subscribers to take advantage of the very best deals on Amazon. So, if you don't have a membership, it's a good idea to sign up for a 30-day free trial here.

These are just a few of my favourite purchases, all tried and tested by me and my family. Anyone looking for a new suitcase or cabin bag, there are plenty of those to choose from too.
1. Travel Adaptor
Few things are more frustrating than watching your phone's battery drain with no way to recharge it. Whether you're stuck at an airport or relaxing in your hotel room, a reliable travel adaptor is an essential part of your travel kit.
If, like me, you travel with multiple gadgets and a tangle of charging cables, you'll appreciate a travel adaptor that can handle more than one device at once.
This Worldwide Travel Plug Adaptor is a top pick for anyone juggling multiple devices, now reduced to £16.99. It includes a universal AC outlet and four USB ports, allowing you to charge up to five devices at the same time.
Compact and lightweight, it slips easily into your carry-on. Plus, its universal compatibility makes it perfect for use in Europe, the USA, Australia, Japan, Thailand, China and many other destinations around the world.
With a 4.6 out of five-star rating buyers have called it "useful" and "super efficient" although some felt the design was a little "chunky."
2. Travel PillowLet's face it, getting comfy in Economy is a challenge, but a travel pillow can help ease some of the discomfort. Sitting awkwardly for extended periods can lead to neck strain, but a travel pillow like this Memory Foam Neck Pillowwill keep you sitting upright, helping to prevent the head bobbing issues that come with trying to nap on the move.
There are some rather posh travel pillows available these days, but you can't beat an ergonomic memory foam neck support like this one, especially as it is now reduced to just £10.49. Other travellers seem to love this pillow too, calling it "super comfy" and "very supportive" in the reviews. Some did however feel that it is "a bit too stiff."
With orthopaedic contouring on both sides to keep your head elevated, breathable polyester to prevent you from overheating and soft velvet for your cheeks to rest on, this travel pillow can be strapped to your suitcase handle when not in use.
3. Portable scalesA must-have for those who struggle to pack light, a handy portable scale will ensure you stay within the excess baggage limits. Easy to use and compact enough to tote around, I'm a fan of this type of portable digital travel scale as they're precise enough to let me pack in every last pair of trousers without exceeding my luggage allowance.
The LCD display is straightforward to read, and the clever tare and lock weight function guarantees pinpoint accuracy each time. It also boasts a handy energy-saving setting meaning it powers down after use, which helps to mitigate the risk of it running out of juice on the move.
Other buyers like me felt that the scale is "easy to use" and "reliable" although one review said the display was "hard to read." A must-have for overpackers, this digital scale has 53% off at £9.40.
4. Packing cubesThese little cubes of goodness will transform the way you pack your suitcase. Available in various shapes and sizes, they assist in keeping your clothes wrinkle-free and well-organised on the move.
I own a set of six packing cubes. They help me keep my t-shirts, undergarments, socks, swimming gear and even shoes neatly organised in my suitcase, and they can be easily stashed in hotel drawers without the need to unpack.
Many globetrotters also swear by the advanced compression packing cubes, which use smart zipper combinations to compress clothes flatter, creating those crucial extra inches in their suitcase.
Inexpensive, reusable and an absolute necessity, you'll soon question how you ever travelled without them. This set is currently on sale for £10.99.
Packing cubes are changing the way we pack. With a 4.3 out of five-star rating, Amazon shoppers have called this set "really useful" and "a lifesaver." Some did mention concerns about the quality saying "doubt they'll last long."
5. Waterproof Phone CasesWhile not strictly essential, these are quite enjoyable. Ideal for anyone who enjoys water activities, we utilise this pair of waterproof phone cases around the pool, in the pool, at the beach and out on the water.
Named UNBREAKcable, and very likely unbreakable by nature, we've never encountered any issues with them on the numerous holidays they've accompanied us on. Capable of protecting phones up to depths of 30 meters, they also feature a safety lock hook to prevent water from seeping in.
The pouches come with detachable lanyard straps to stop your precious phone from drifting away underwater. A must-have for water babies, shoppers call them "great quality" and "really waterproof."
Despite the fact that some buyers felt that the size was a little two small for some larger phone models, more than 2,000 shoppers left positive reviews for the two pack that has 15% off - now £9.31.
6. Portable Cable OrganiserI'm not overstating when I express how much I adore this little portable cable organiser. With numerous small compartments, it's ideal for keeping all those pesky cables and adapters tidily in one spot. In fact, I use mine so frequently, that I bought an additional one for the car.
With its protective hard shell design, it prevents items from getting squashed on the move, and with double layers, a middle compartment, and a zippered mesh pocket, it's got ample space for a power bank, some cables, earphones, SD cards and other bits and bobs.
There are likely loads of similar cable organisers to pick from, but I really appreciate the compact design of this one that buyers have called "perfect for travelling." Now reduced from £16.99 to £12.96, a small number of buyers felt that the box was "bulky."
7. Power Bank
A portable power bank is an absolute must-have for staying connected on the move, extending the battery life of your phone, tablet or other device while travelling. Over the years, we've tested many, from slim ones that fit in school blazer pockets to trendy coloured ones with matching cables.
This two-pack of power banks is simple but superb and by far the best we've tried, holding enough charge to keep your phone topped up at all times. Perfect for everything from festival fields to airport delays, this set now has 40% off, taking the price down £14.99.
Other buyers love them too, calling them "fantastic" and "outstanding chargers." While some shoppers felt they weren't "the fastest" the set still has an impressive 6,150 reviews on Amazon.
If Amazon doesn't have what you are looking for, Argos has a good selection of travel essentials including the Go Travel Luxurious Memory Foam Travel Pillow for £19.99. With a plush cover, buyers have called it "worth every penny" for longer journeys.
Another popular buy is the Apple World Travel Adapter Kit for £35. Featuring a set of seven AC plugs, each one comes with prongs that fit different electrical outlets around the world.
Discerning travellers can pick up some on-trend bits from Dunelm, including the Danielle Creations Packing Cubesfor £15 and the matching Danielle Creations LuggageStraps for £12.
Designer luggage company Antler also has some lust-worthy must-haves including packing cubes and pouches, while Next is selling some cute bits for kids including personalised travel setsand backpacks.
