supreme leader ayatollah ali khamenei: Israel's ambassador to India Reuven Azar gave a befitting reply to Iran and strongly criticized Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei for his remarks on Muslims in India. Azar said, "You are a murderer and oppressor of your own people. Muslims have freedom in Israel, India and all democracies. This freedom is not there in Iran. I wish that the people of Iran become free soon."
Let us tell you that Khamenei had linked India with Gaza while talking about the plight of Muslims. India did not like this comment. New Delhi immediately rejected Iran's statement on Indian Muslims.
What was Khamenei's controversial statement?
Khamenei had said that the enemies of Islam have always tried to make us indifferent regarding our common identity as the Islamic Ummah. We cannot consider ourselves Muslims if we are unaware of the suffering faced by Muslims in Myanmar, Gaza, India or anywhere else.
Khamenei made this statement during Islamic Unity Week. In this program, Khamenei met the Sunni community of Iran and praised them for their contributions to Iranian society.
