Bhopal: In Shahdol, Madhya Pradesh, a son refused to light his father's pyre. The son put a condition of 2.5 lakh rupees to light his father's pyre. The mother tearfully requested the son over the phone to come to the village and perform the last rites of the father, but the son did not listen to her. When the son did not agree even after the mother's many requests, ultimately the wife had to light her husband's pyre.

According to reports, this incident happened in ward number 11 of Kachiana Tola of Baihar police station area of Madhya Pradesh. This incident happened 10 days ago, which has come to light now. 10 days ago a person named Ram Swaroop Burman died. The mother called the son and told him that his father has died, you come and perform the last rites. On this the son said that first sell the house in the village and put 2.5 lakh rupees in my account, only then I will come. The mother, family and the village head tried to convince him a lot but he was not ready to listen to anyone.

When the son was not ready to perform the last rites, the deceased's wife Parvati decided to complete all the rituals herself. She herself carried the bier to the cremation ground. At the cremation ground too, the son was waited for a long time. Finally, she herself completed all the rituals and lit her husband's pyre. During this time, the whole village was with Parvati.

Even after the last rites, the woman was hopeful that her son would definitely come for the tenth day ceremony. But when the son did not come even after the tenth day ceremony, the woman along with her daughters went straight to the police station and lodged a complaint against the son. Parvati has demanded strict action against the son from the police.

Ram Swaroop Burman and Parvati couple have two daughters and a son. Ever since marriage, son Manoj used to fight with his parents for money. Later he started living separately from his parents in a rented house in Baihar with his wife. It is being told that whenever Manoj came to the village, he used to fight with his parents for money.
