Palghar, Maharashtra: The Pelhar Police have arrested a woman and her lover for allegedly murdering her husband and burying his body inside their home in the Dhaniv Baug area of Nalasopara. The accused were tracked down and apprehended in Pune.
Crime Unfolds in Dhaniv Baug
The deceased, 32-year-old Vijay Chauhan, was a resident of Om Sai Welfare Society in Dhaniv Baug. According to police, he was murdered by his wife, Chaman Devi, in collusion with her lover, Monu Sharma. After committing the crime, the duo buried his body inside the house and fled the scene.
Missing Complaint Leads to Shocking Discovery
The murder came to light after the deceased’s brothers filed a missing person complaint. Acting on a tip-off, the police discovered Chauhan’s buried body on Monday during a search of the residence. The case was further intensified when Chaman Devi and Monu Sharma disappeared three days before the body was found.
Accused Tracked Down in Pune
To track down the absconding couple, four teams from the Crime Branch and two teams from the Pelhar Police were deployed. Their coordinated efforts led to the successful arrest of both accused in Pune.

Initial investigations suggest that Chaman Devi was involved in an extramarital affair with Monu Sharma, who lived in the same neighbourhood. Their illicit relationship reportedly led to the planning and execution of Vijay Chauhan’s murder. Both accused are currently in police custody as further investigation continues.
