Bier brings a strong product development background. He co-founded tbh, a positive polling app acquired by Facebook (now Meta) in 2017. After a stint at Meta as a product leader until 2021, he went on to co-create Gas, an anonymous polling app aimed at teens that achieved rapid user growth.
Since early 2024, Bier has been embedded at xAI, Musk’s artificial intelligence venture, where he quietly worked on integrating AI features into X. His recent efforts have included tools that use AI to generate context-aware questions for user engagement.
As X continues to evolve into an AI-enhanced super-app under Musk’s leadership, Bier’s appointment signals a push to merge community-driven design with advanced personalisation.
