Mumbai: The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) and its Konkan board will conduct Lokshahi Din on April 15th and 16th. The session will be led by Sanjeev Jaiswal, Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of MHADA. And the konkan board Lokshahi din will be held under the chairpersonship of Revati Gaikar, Chief Officer.
MHADA administration informs the public that since January 2024, Lokshahi Din is being organized on the second Monday of every month at the Bandra (East) headquarters. So far, nine Lokshahi Din sessions have been successfully conducted under the leadership of Jaiswal.
During these sessions, open and direct discussions are held on citizens’ complaints in the presence of concerned officials. As a result, many long-pending iasues have been resolved immediately, offering citizens transparent, simple, and speedy justice.
This initiative has enhanced transparency, accountability, and responsiveness within the MHADA administration. Citizens have expressed confidence that Lokshahi Din serves as a strong bridge between the public and the administration.
The MHADA administration appeals to all citizens to present their grievances or queries during Lokshahi Din. However, Cases that are already under judicial consideration, Matters related to revenue/appeals, Service and establishment-related issues, Applications not in the prescribed format or without required supporting documents, Matters for which a final reply has already been issued or is in process, Repeated applications on the same subject and Applications or grievances of a personal nature
Applications that are not eligible for Lokshahi Din will be forwarded to the concerned department for appropriate action within eight days. A copy of the same, with page numbering, must be provided to the applicant.
As per the directives of the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, and in accordance with instructions from the Deputy CM Eknath Shinde, all administrative departments have been advised to implement a 100-Din action plan aimed at improving public service delivery.
In this context, MHADA has identified “Public Grievance Redressal” as a key component of its seven-point programme. Jaiswal has instructed all divisional boards to initiate Janata Darbar sessions as part of the implementation. Accordingly, the first such session is being conducted by the Konkan Board under the guidance of the Vice President.
