New Delhi: There have been many news reports recently that EPFO (Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation) may soon increase the minimum monthly pension from Rs 1,000 to Rs 7,500. Many employee unions and a Parliamentary Committee have been requesting this hike.

The government has now responded in Parliament. It clearly said that no final decision has been made yet on increasing the pension. Yes, the demand is strong, but the hike is still under review.
