Ottawa: An Indian national was stabbed to death in Canada's Rockland area near Ottawa on Friday. The Indian Embassy in Canada gave the information in this regard through an X post. One suspect has been arrested in connection with the case.
"We are deeply saddened by the tragic death of an Indian national in Rockland near Ottawa, due to stabbing. Police have stated a suspect has been taken into custody," the Indian Embassy said.
"We are in close contact through a local community association to provide all possible assistance to the bereaved kin," it added.

A heavy police deployment has been made in the area. Notably, one person died on Friday morning in Clarence-Rockland, while another was arrested, reported NDTV citing local reports. However, it is not sure if it was the same incident.
A detailed investigation has been launched into the matter.
