Indore (Madhya Pradesh): City crime branch arrested 45th accused in the case of ₹70 Crore MD drugs that was seized by the officials from some people including a factory owner from Hyderabad four years ago. The recently arrested accused was in a Rajasthan jail for his involvement in another case of NDPS Act.
During action against illegal drug traffickers, city crime branch received information that Rafique Khan, a resident of Pratapgarh (Rajasthan) and an absconding accused in the drug trafficking case, is currently lodged in Ajmer jail in connection with an NDPS Act case there.
After this information, the crime branch brought the accused from Ajmer jail to Indore district court on a production warrant and is interrogating him under police remand.

As he evaded arrest for a long time, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) had announced a bounty of ₹4,000 for his arrest.
It is noteworthy that MD drugs worth ₹70 crore was seized by the crime branch and five people including a factory owner from Hyderabad and his driver were arrested in January 2021. During the question and investigation 44 accused were arrested.
The officials had found Rafique’s role in the case so he was being searched by the police. Further investigations are on into the case.
