Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday launched 27 Integrated Manufacturing and Logistics Clusters (IMLC) along the state’s network of expressways. The chief minister described the initiative as a major milestone in transforming Uttar Pradesh into the “backbone of economic growth” for India.
Speaking at the launch event, the BJP leader said the project was inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of positioning Uttar Pradesh as a hub for industry, logistics, and investment.
"It is a moment of immense happiness for me that I am getting the opportunity to launch the dream of Integrated Manufacturing and Logistics Cluster in Uttar Pradesh, which Prime Minister Modi had seen in a state like UP, today with my colleagues," he said.
"The double-engine government has played a significant role in establishing Uttar Pradesh as an expressway state over the last eight years. It has also succeeded in establishing Uttar Pradesh as a great destination for investment, " the CM added.
Integrated approach to drive economic transformation
An official spokesperson said on Wednesday that the integrated approach underpinning the clusters is expected to accelerate industrial growth, create large-scale employment opportunities, and drive balanced regional development across the state.
“It will ultimately propel Uttar Pradesh towards its one trillion economy target and achieving industrial self-reliance,” the official said, according to a TOI report.
The spokesperson noted that the nodes, strategically located along major expressways, are not only a dream project of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath but also hold immense strategic significance for the state’s long-term growth.
“By attracting investments, creating jobs, and promoting regional specialisation, the Yogi government is setting the foundation for an industrially robust and economically empowered Uttar Pradesh,” the spokesperson added.
