In a thrilling showdown at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Mohammed Siraj turned heads with a masterclass performance, claiming 3 wickets for just 19 runs against his former team, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, while donning the blue jersey of the Gujarat Titans.
The 31-year-old pacer, who spent an eventful seven years with RCB from 2018 to 2024, showcased his skills in a way that had fans reminiscing about his time with the franchise.
Siraj's impressive bowling display in the powerplay was nothing short of spectacular, as he sent both Devdutt Padikkal and Phil Salt packing.

The highlight? ' Miyan Bhai's' exuberant celebration inspired by Cristiano Ronaldo's iconic 'siu' move, which brought an extra spark to the match. Reflecting on his signature celebration, Siraj said, "I am Ronaldo's fan and hence the celebration." It’s clear that the passion runs deep, both for the game and for the football legend.
"I was a bit emotional. I was here for 7 years, changed jersey from red to blue. There was some nervousness and some emotion but the moment I got the ball in my hand, it was full-on," Siraj said after being awarded the Player of the Match.
During his stint with RCB, Siraj made a significant impact, featuring in 87 matches and claiming 83 wickets at an average of 31.45, with his best figures standing at a remarkable 4/21. However, RCB opted not to retain him ahead of the much-anticipated 2025 mega auction, a decision that some fans may still be scratching their heads about.
After being left out of the Champions Trophy squad, Siraj used that time wisely, focusing on refining his skills and boosting his fitness. "I had been playing consistently, but during the break I corrected my mistakes and worked on my fitness," he said, showcasing his dedication to improvement.
Now a part of the Gujarat Titans, Siraj has found mentorship under the seasoned Ashish Nehra and the experienced Ishant Sharma. "Once I was picked up by Gujarat Titans, I spoke to Ashish Bhai. He (Nehra) tells me to go enjoy your bowling and Ishu (Ishant) Bhai tells me what line and length to bowl. My mindset is to have belief and then the pitch does not matter," Siraj shared, emphasizing the invaluable support he has received.
