Jasprit Bumrah named vice-captain of 15-member Indian squad for Test series against New Zealand

The BCCI on Friday announced world number one Test pacer Jasprit Bumrah as the vice-captain of the 15-member squad that will take on New Zealand in the three-match Test series at home. Rohit Sharma will continue to lead the squad. There was no vice-captain appointed for the two Tests against Bangladesh.

Uncapped Left-arm pacer Yash Dayal, who was drafted into the squad against Bangladesh after impressing in the Duleep Trophy, has been left out due to a shoulder injury during Uttar Pradesh's Ranji Trophy match against Bengal in Lucknow on Friday. Other than the exclusion, there are no changes from the previous squad.

Additionally, pacers Harshit Rana, Prasidh Krishna and Mayank Yadav, along with all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy have been named as the travelling reserves.

The three matches will be played at Bengaluru from October 16-20, Pune from October 24-28, and Mumbai from November 1-5.
