On Hanuman Jayanti, Jabalpur's Pachmatha temple unveiled a special Maha Thali featuring 56 traditional dishes from across India, along with a colossal 5,000 kg laddu.
In celebration of its silver jubilee, the Hanuman Mandir Seva Samiti and Mahila Mandal are hosting a grand three-day event.
The thali embodies the spirit of "unity in diversity," showcasing regional specialties on a single sacred platter. It includes dry fruit from Kashmir, fafda-jalebi and dhokla from Gujarat, layiya from Uttar Pradesh, Banarasi paan, lassi, bel sharbat, and Bihar's iconic litti-chokha.
Jagadguru Raghav Devacharya told ANI, "It's Hanuman ji's strength that reminds us who we are. Just like he found his purpose walking with Lord Ram, we too can express our Hindu identity by staying connected to his spirit."
Devotee Shraddha, involved in the preparation, shared, "This plate brings together dishes from every corner of the country. From Kashmir, we’ve included dry fruits, from Gujarat, fafda, jalebi, and dhokla, Uttar Pradesh has sent layiya, Banaras offers its famous paan, lassi, and bel sharbat, and Bihar's litti chokha is also part of the thali. Every item has been prepared with love."
Hanuman Jayanti, observed on the full moon day of Chaitra month, marks the birth of Lord Hanuman. Devotees worldwide observe fasts and perform puja, chanting Hanuman Mantras to form a deeper connection with Lord Hanuman.
