The shares of Globus Spirits rose 4% on Tuesday to a day’s high of Rs 1,373 on BSE following the launch of DŌAAB India Craft Whisky, setting in motion its entry into the luxury segment of the growing whisky market in India.
DŌAAB India Craft Whisky is a contemporary range of limited-edition Indian whiskies, created with a spirit of exploration and experimentation, according to a release.
Globus Spirits stated that by exploring and experimenting with the unexpected, they aim to continuously introduce new limited-edition expressions of Indian whisky. This range is designed for an India ready to break the mold.
DŌAAB’s first limited-edition range is inspired by the Indian fable, The Six Blind Men and the Elephant. The release describes this as a tribute to everyone involved in creating this single malt.
Six Blind Men and the Elephant is a single malt whisky, greater than the sum of its parts, with a limited edition of 500 casks.
“Within two years the company has innovated into various segments in the drinks industry of India and we are proud to raise the standards with the launch of DŌAAB. As a company we continue to aspire for more and will offer the best offerings cutting across all segments,” said Shekhar Swarup, Joint Managing Director of Globus Spirits Limited.
The release also mentioned that DŌAAB India Craft Whisky, 01 Single Malt Whisky, is being launched in a 750 ml bottle, priced between Rs 4,500 and Rs 5,500, depending on the state and applicable pricing norms. The brand begins its journey with an introduction in Jaipur.
In the last five years, the shares of Globus Spirits have surged by 915.38%, and in the last 10 years, they have risen by 1,628%.
