Until I Kill You viewers were glued to their TV screens for the second episode of the hit drama. However, fans were quick to spot an error that left them reeling.
Last night, viewers saw the harrowing story unfold as Delia met carpenter John at a Camden pub in 1991. At first, he seemed to be an attentive partner as he showered Delia with flowers and affection.
It quickly became clear that it was all an act and it was revealed that he was a man capable of extreme violence.
During Monday’s instalment of the four-part series, which is based on the true story of Delia Balmer and killer John Sweeney, things continued to take a sickening turn as John brutally attacked Delia.

Things got even more terrifying for Delia as he held her hostage, restrained her, tied her to a bed and threatened to cut out her tongue if she screamed.
John went on to reveal that he killed his ex-girlfriend, Melissa Halstead, while in Amsterdam and dumped her body in the river.
John was worried that Delia was going to report him to the police, so he claimed that he was lying about the murder. He then threatened to kill her and her loved ones if she ever told anyone the truth.
Delia reluctantly reported him to the domestic violence unit. However, because her non-compliant attitude didn’t fit their concept of how a victim behaves, they didn’t seem to believe a word she was saying.
In a graphic and heart-breaking moment, John broke into Delia's house and attacked her. Thankfully, her close friend heard the whole ordeal and rang the police.
At first, things seemed to be looking up, but in a shock twist, John was released on bail and things got worse for Delia, as she was later taken to hospital after John brutally attacked her with a bike.
Viewers watching at home were appalled at how Delia was treated as they questioned why the Amsterdam police weren’t contacted as part of an investigation.
One viewer wrote: “This coppers an idiot, contact the Amsterdam police you fool #untilikillyou.” Another said: “Surely it was worth a phone call to Amsterdam police as a minimum #UntilIKillYou.” (sic)
A third commented: “Here’s an idea, copper. Phone Amsterdam police and ask if there’s a Melissa who’s gone missing #Untilikillyou.” Another said: “All the police had to do was call Amsterdam #UntilIKillYou.” (sic)
Meanwhile one added: “Here’s an idea, copper. Phone Amsterdam police and ask if there’s a Melissa who’s gone missing #Untilikillyou.” (sic)
Until I Kill You continues tomorrow at 9pm on ITV and ITVX.
