Send Push

Uber is offering a full-day experience of wildlife, landscapes and food with their new Uber Safari option which is available for bookings from tomorrow exclusively on the app.

The new offering will take customers straight from their desired pick-up location in Cape Town to their partners, Aquila Private Game Reserve, just a few hours outside of the Mother City, as it is known.

At a flat rate of $200 (£150), riders can go solo or include up to three of their friends to come along for the adventure. It starts with a pick up in Cape Town in a uniquely branded Uber Safari vehicle for the two hour drive to Aquila, where riders can enjoy breakfast and a welcome toast before boarding their game drive vehicle.

Followed by a lunch and some free time to explore Aquila before returning to Cape Town.

Uber Safari is available to book from 24 hours to 90 days in advance through the app from tomorrow, October 2. The bucket list itinerary will run on Fridays and Saturdays for a limited time until February next year. But customers are warned to be quick as the safari offerings is visible to all Uber customers in Cape Town and expected to be snapped up soon.

The new adventure marks the latest of the company’s limited edition Go Anywhere products. This has previously included the likes of Uber Bubbles in Paris, Uber Balloon in Cappadocia and Uber Seaplane in Scotland.

Johan van Schalkwyk, Commercial Officer of Aquila Collection shared: “Uber Safari allows folks to book and enjoy an unforgettable day at Aquila, where they’ll get to experience the Big 5 in an easy and luxurious way. It’s the perfect combination of modern convenience and natural beauty, all while supporting wildlife conservation efforts that are vital to preserving South Africa’s biodiversity."
